Myoung-Hwan Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Texas Tech University, where he leads the Kim IR Lab focused on infrared optics and polarimetry. His research bridges quantum materials and nanophotonics, with affiliations including collaborations with Los Alamos National Lab and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory.

Research Interests: Dr. Kim investigates quantum anomalies in magnetic Weyl semimetals using infrared magneto-transport, develops surface phonon polaritonic metasurfaces for infrared light control, and pioneers CMOS-compatible rare-earth spin qubits for quantum sensing. His work integrates nanofabrication, spectroscopy, and theoretical modeling to advance infrared technology and topological materials.
Publications Focus: Recent articles emphasize thermal tuning of nanocavities, plasmon-phonon coupling, and metasurface applications in waveguides. Trends include active control of mid-infrared light, quantum material characterization, and nanoscale photonic device innovation.
