Dr. Wedad Abdelrahman is a UK-trained consultant dermatologist affiliated with King’s College London, working full-time at the St John’s Institute of Dermatology. She holds a faculty role within the School of Basic & Medical Biosciences, Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine. Her clinical practice focuses on paediatric and adult dermatology, with specialist tertiary clinics in immunobullous skin diseases, hidradenitis suppurativa, and epidermolysis bullosa.
Dr. Abdelrahman completed her medical training at Queen’s University of Belfast and pursued advanced fellowships: a therapeutic laser fellowship at Swansea’s Burns and Plastic Surgery center, and a medical dermatology fellowship at St John’s Institute. She is the national chief investigator for a pediatric psoriasis clinical trial (Risankizumab study for 6-18yo patients with plaque psoriasis), contributing to ongoing clinical research.
Her educational contributions include teaching undergraduates at King’s College London and postgraduates on the MSc Clinical Dermatology program. She holds an MSc in Clinical Education from Queen’s University of Belfast and actively participates in medical education initiatives. Her research and clinical work emphasize complex inflammatory skin conditions and advancing therapeutic approaches.
