Waverly Duck is the North Hall Chair Endowed Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research focuses on urban marginalization, racial dynamics, and community interactions, employing ethnographic methods to analyze systemic inequalities and social justice frameworks.
Education:
Ph.D. in Sociology from Wayne State University.
Research Focus: Duck investigates the lived experiences of marginalized groups through:
- Ethnographic analysis of poverty and drug economies
- Structural racism in everyday interactions
- Community-driven solutions to systemic inequality
Achievements:
