Warren Poole is a Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and holds the Canada Research Chair in Through Process Modelling of Advanced Structural Materials and the Rio Tinto Aluminium Chair in Materials Process Engineering. He earned his B.E.Sc. (Western) and Ph.D. (McMaster) in materials engineering. His research focuses on advanced aluminum alloys, high-strength steels, and metal matrix composites, with an emphasis on microstructure/property modeling and computational approaches to industrial processes.
