Wang Xinchen is a Professor at Fuzhou University and currently serves as Vice President and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Photocatalysis on Energy and Environment. He holds a B.S. (1999) and M.S. (2002) in Physical Chemistry from Fuzhou University, and a Ph.D. (2005) in Environmental Science from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on photocatalysis, including graphitic carbon nitride materials for energy applications, water splitting, and CO₂ reduction.

Research interests span materials chemistry, heterogeneous photocatalysis, and energy materials. He pioneered carbon nitride photocatalysis, addressing challenges in visible light absorption and charge separation. His work includes over 360 publications with ~82,000 citations and an H-index of 134.
