معرفی
Assoc Prof Wang Xianfeng is an Associate Professor and Assistant Chair (Research) at the Asian School of the Environment, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He also serves as a Principal Investigator at NTU’s Earth Observatory of Singapore and holds an adjunct role as Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO). His research focuses on climate dynamics, paleoclimatology, and environmental geochemistry, with a particular emphasis on monsoon systems and isotopic records.
Prof Wang holds a PhD in Geology from the University of Minnesota (2006), and BSc/MSc degrees from Nanjing University, China. He has received notable awards including the Singapore National Research Foundation Fellowship (2011) and LDEO Postdoctoral Fellowship (2009). His work integrates field observations, isotopic analysis, and climate modeling to address global environmental challenges.
Research interests include reconstructing past climates via speleothems and corals, investigating monsoon variability, and analyzing anthropogenic impacts on atmospheric and marine systems. Current grants support studies on tropical convection, microplastics, and heavy metal contamination. His lab contributes to understanding climate change impacts in Southeast Asia and beyond.
