معرفی
Jinfan Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW). He leads the Wang Lab, which focuses on elucidating the dynamic mechanisms of cytosolic and mitochondrial protein synthesis and their dysregulation in human diseases. Wang's research integrates single-molecule fluorescence microscopy with biochemical, structural, and genetic approaches to build quantitative models of translation processes.
- Education:
- B.S. in Biotechnology, University of Science and Technology Beijing (2010)
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Uppsala University (2016)
Research Interests:
The Wang Lab investigates how ribosomes, mRNA, and regulatory factors interact dynamically during translation. Key areas include mitochondrial translation, eukaryotic initiation mechanics, and the role of RNA modifications in disease. Techniques involve single-molecule imaging, structural analysis, and reconstituted translation systems.
Scientific Awards:
- Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation Fellowship
- UTSW Endowed Scholar
Advising and Collaborations:
Wang actively recruits graduate students, postdocs, and technicians to build a diverse research team. His work bridges fundamental translation mechanisms with therapeutic target discovery for diseases linked to translation dysregulation.
