Dr. Walter Siqueira is a Tenured Professor and the current Dean of the College of Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan. He serves as the chief academic and executive officer of the College, combining leadership with active research in salivary proteomics.

His research interests include proteomics, salivary diagnostics, and therapeutic applications of saliva. He investigates saliva's role in oral and systemic diseases, biofilm formation, acquired enamel pellicle, microbiome, and mass spectrometric analysis of proteins and peptides.
Dr. Siqueira has received numerous accolades, including the W.W. Wood Award for Excellence in Dental Education, the Salivary Researcher of the Year Award from IADR, and the prestigious Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (FCAHS) recognition, held by only 11 dentists in history.
He leads the Salivary Proteomics Research Laboratory, supported by over $10 million in funding from CIHR, NSERC, CFI, SHRF, the COVID-19 Immunity Task Force, FAPESP, and industry contracts. His work integrates clinical and basic science, emphasizing knowledge translation in oral health research.
