Walid Maalej is a Professor of Informatics at the University of Hamburg, where he teaches software development and advanced software engineering courses to large cohorts. As head of the Informatics Department, he led the department through pandemic-related challenges, including budget cuts.

He received his doctoral degree from TU Munich with distinction and is an alumnus of the Center for Digital Technology and Management.
