Walid Abou Moussa serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Civil and Urban Engineering at the Tandon School of Engineering, New York University. A Licensed Professional Engineer in New York and Connecticut, he brings extensive industry experience from over 19 years in engineering and construction.
Education: Dr. Abou Moussa earned his Master's of Science in Structural and Material Engineering from Polytechnic University in 1997 and his Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering from NYU School of Engineering in 2009.
Research Focus: His research spans Structural Engineering and Geomechanics, particularly in Earth Retaining Structures and Thermal Soil-Structure Interaction. This expertise is reflected in his 7 peer-reviewed international publications and the authorship of the book 'Rigidly Framed Earth Retaining Structures' (Springer, 2014), which addresses thermal effects on buildings supporting unbalanced lateral earth pressures.
Professional Background: Formerly the Managing Partner at Antonucci & Associates (1999-2010), he currently holds leadership roles as President of American Ventilation Services, Inc. and Principal of Ventrop Engineering Consulting Group, PLLC (both since 2011).
