Wai Fong Chua

Wai Fong Chua is a Visiting Professor at the Department of Accounting in the School of Economics at the University of Sydney. She is also an Affiliated Researcher at Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets and a Visiting Professor at the Center for Municipality Governance and House of Governance and Public Policy.

• First Class Honours and PhD (1983) from Sheffield University
• Honorary Doctorate from the University of Jyvaskyla (2009)

Her research focuses on accounting control systems, the professionalisation of accounting, intersections of accounting and emotions, and non-financial information disclosure and assurance. She is internationally recognized for advancing qualitative research methods in accounting.

She has published extensively in journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society, European Accounting Review, and The Journal of Management Studies, with editorial roles including Consulting Editor for Accounting, Organizations and Society and Associated Editor for Qualitative Research in Accounting and Management.
