Wafa Al-Jamal

Professor Wafa Al-Jamal is a leading expert in nanomedicine and drug delivery, serving as Professor of Advanced Nanotherapeutics at the School of Pharmacy, Queen’s University Belfast. She is also a Visiting Professor at Guizhou Medical School, China, and holds UK and Jordanian pharmacist registrations. Her career spans prestigious institutions including UCL School of Pharmacy, King’s College London, and the University of East Anglia.

Professor Al-Jamal’s multidisciplinary research focuses on:

• Translation of nanoparticle-based therapeutics to clinical applications
• Nanotoxicology and exosome-based therapies

Advising & Grants:

Professor Al-Jamal actively supervises PhD students and leads major research initiatives. Her active project includes the MICA: EnLAmB initiative (2023–ongoing) to advance liposomal amphotericin B formulations.

Laboratory & Team:

She heads a multidisciplinary team at Queen’s University Belfast’s School of Pharmacy, with state-of-the-art facilities in Whitla Medical Building, Room 03.028. The team collaborates globally, including with partners in China, to advance nanomedicine research.
