Justin Tian

Dr. Justin Tian is a Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Engineering at Queen's University Belfast's School of Pharmacy, Material and Advanced Technologies for Healthcare. Holding a PhD in Pharmaceutics, he focuses on advanced drug delivery systems and process engineering for global health challenges.

His research centers on nanomedicine and antifungal therapies, particularly addressing neglected tropical diseases through projects like EnLAmB (2023-2025) developing scalable liposomal amphotericin B manufacturing. His team explores:

• Microrheology of extracellular matrices
• Metastable drug delivery systems

Recent publications highlight his work in amorphous solid dispersion, polymer-mediated phase separation, and liposomal bilayer interactions. He has secured £900,000+ as Principal Investigator from UKRI, Innovate UK, and medical charities.
