Wael ElRayes

Dr. Wael ElRayes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Services Research & Administration at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's College of Public Health. He also serves as Co-Director of the Center for Global Health and Development and Director of the Master of Health Administration program.

His research focuses on health systems administration, global health security, refugee health interventions, and emergency preparedness strategies. He has special expertise in high-consequence infectious disease management and pandemic response systems.

Recent publications examine institutional readiness for viral hemorrhagic fever outbreaks, refugee mental health services, and global high-level isolation unit capabilities. His work frequently addresses challenges in humanitarian settings and crisis response coordination.
