Susan McLellan

Susan McLellan is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), specializing in infectious diseases. She holds multiple leadership roles, including Medical Director of the Biocontainment Treatment Unit, Director of Biosafety for Research-related Infectious Pathogens, and Director of the Special Pathogens Excellence in Clinical Treatment, Readiness, and Education (SPECTRE) program. Her career spans over 25 years, with expertise in medical and public health education, clinical care of emerging infectious diseases, and outbreak response in resource-poor settings. She has contributed to global health efforts, including WHO consultations during the Ebola outbreaks in West Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
