Waddah Arafat

Dr. Waddah Arafat is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and Medical Director of Clinical Cancer Informatics at Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. A Damascus University medical graduate, he completed residency at Indiana University and hematology/oncology fellowship at University of Wisconsin.

His clinical expertise spans germ cell tumors, urothelial cancer, and renal cell carcinoma. He chairs the Germ Cell Tumor Board and leads quality initiatives including the Oncology Care Model. Research focuses on clinical oncology trial design, radiation combination therapies, and cancer informatics solutions for trial matching.

Recent publications emphasize novel therapy combinations for genitourinary cancers, health disparities in prostate cancer care, and informatics platforms for clinical trial recruitment. Articles show strong focus on antibody-drug conjugates, immunotherapy combinations, and real-world evidence generation.
