معرفی
Dr. Vytautas Klimavičius is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Chemical Physics, Physics Faculty of Vilnius University. His professional activities are centered around advanced magnetic resonance techniques applied to materials science and chemistry.
Dr. Klimavičius specializes in Solid State NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) and DNP (Dynamic Nuclear Polarization) techniques, with research focusing on functional materials. His work spans multiple areas including biomaterials (hydroxyapatite), energy storage materials (porous carbons), cement chemistry, catalysis, and luminescent materials. He has developed expertise in monitoring structural transformations at the molecular level using advanced NMR methodologies.
His recent publications (2015-2022) demonstrate a consistent research trajectory in applying NMR and DNP techniques to diverse materials systems. The publications reveal a strong emphasis on understanding structure-property relationships in complex materials, with particular attention to spin dynamics, molecular ordering, and chemical transformations at various scales from nano to macro.
- Co-financing grant by Vilnius University foundation
- Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship for postdoctoral researchers
Dr. Klimavičius has secured multiple research grants including internal Vilnius University funding for "Garnets as self-enhancing systems for Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP)" (2022-2023), Research Council of Lithuania funding for "Synthesis and NMR crystallography of novel supramolecular aggregates" (2020-2022), and an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship (2018-2020). He serves as Chair of the Master's program Life and Chemical Physics and is a committee member of Groupement AMPERE.
His laboratory work focuses on Solid State NMR and DNP applications, with access to advanced instrumentation through Vilnius University's research infrastructure including the Spectroversum center. His research group collaborates extensively with international partners, particularly with German institutions through the Humboldt Foundation connections.
