Vrakas Dimitrios

Dimitris Vrakas is an Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has held this position since 2003 under Presidential Decree 407/80 and also serves as an Informatics Instructor at Public Vocational Training Institutes in Kalamaria, Epanomi, and Thessaloniki. His research focuses on automated reasoning and intelligent systems.

His research interests include Automated Problem Solving, Action Planning, and Heuristic Functions, with applications in Intelligent Autonomous Systems and Advanced Programming Techniques. He has contributed to 45 papers (15 journal articles, 30 conference papers) and co-authored works on robotics and automated planning.

Notably, he served as General Chair of the 9th Hellenic Conference on Artificial Intelligence and as a Workshop Organizing Chair for WIMS 2014. He has participated in over 30 program committees and reviewed more than 50 academic papers. His work has received 576 citations on Google Scholar.
