Papageorgiou Dimitrios

Dimitrios Papageorgiou is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (ELMEPA) since July 2022, and a collaborating researcher at the Institute of Informatics of the Foundation for Research and Technology (FORTH) since November 2022. His research focuses on Control and Automation Systems with emphasis on Robotics Applications.

He holds an ECE Diploma (2013) and a PhD (2019) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), where his doctoral thesis addressed 'Control of Collaborative Robots using Dynamic Systems and Constraint Enforcement'. His research interests include robot control, human-robot interaction, AI-driven control solutions, and applications in industrial robotics, surgical robotics, and agriculture.

He leads the CARPOS project (Coachable Robot for Fruit Picking Operations) and administers the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions doctoral network RAICAM (Robotics and AI for Critical Asset Monitoring). He is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters and has reviewed for top journals/conferences in robotics and control systems.

Dr. Papageorgiou has co-authored over 24 publications in journals (e.g., IEEE Transactions on Robotics) and conferences (e.g., ICRA, IROS, CDC), and has participated in 5 EU and 3 national research projects. He is also a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
