Volkan Sezer is a Professor at Istanbul Technical University's Department of Control and Automation Engineering. His research focuses on robotics, automotive technology, and intelligent systems, with specializations in autonomous vehicles, SLAM, hybrid electric vehicle control, and machine learning. He directs the Smart and Autonomous Laboratory (SASLAB) and provides consultancy to companies in autonomous driving and energy management. His work has been funded by TUBITAK and Istanbul Technical University.
- Educational background: Ph.D. in Control and Automation Engineering (2008) and M.Sc. in Mechatronics Engineering (2005) from Istanbul Technical University, B.Sc. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (2005) from Yildiz Technical University
Research interests span control theory, mechatronics, AI, autonomous vehicles, hybrid/electric vehicles, and robotics. His 2024 projects include advanced autonomous driving algorithms, intelligent path tracking, and obstacle avoidance methodologies.
