Vladislav Šoltys

Vladislav Šoltys is an Assistant Professor and Grant Coordinator at the Department of Dance Creation, Faculty of Music and Dance, Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. He holds an ArtD degree and has extensive international performance experience with renowned companies like Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre and Tanztheater Wien. His career spans choreography, teaching, and artistic direction.

Education: Studied dance pedagogy at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and Prague. Professional experience includes performances at major festivals in Europe, Australia, and the USA. Notable collaborations include work with choreographers Michael Keegin Dolan and Ján Ďurovčík.

Research interests focus on contemporary dance, performance art, and dance education. He leads workshops globally and initiated projects like Gala Art Moves (2017/2018) and Art Moves (2022), showcasing emerging dance artists. Affiliations include PLAST platform for contemporary dance and roles as a national juror for IDO and FPU expert committee.

Teaching focuses on contemporary dance, improvisation, and dance theater at the Academy of Performing Arts. Awards include company-level recognitions such as the Irish Times Theatre Awards Special Critics’ Award (2004) and Circle Award (2008) for collaborative works.
