Irina Čierniková

Irina Čierniková is a Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Music and Dance at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU). She holds a PhD (ArtD) and has served as Dean since 2015, previously leading the Department of Dance Production (2008–2015). Her expertise spans classical dance, dance pedagogy, and the psychological dimensions of artistic performance.

She graduated in dance pedagogy from VŠMU (1988) and earned her doctoral degree in 2002 with a dissertation on Psychology and its Influence on the Performance of a Dance Artist. Awarded the title of Associate Professor (2004) and Professor (2010), she has shaped curricula and mentored over 80 students across bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs.

Prof. Čierniková has collaborated with prestigious institutions like the Slovak National Theatre and Prague’s Laterna Magika. She actively participates in professional committees and juries in the arts, contributing to both academic and artistic communities.
