Vladimir Pravosudov, Foundation Professor and Trevor J. McMinn Endowed Research Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, leads research in Animal Behavior and Behavioral Ecology. His interdisciplinary work bridges evolutionary and mechanistic perspectives, focusing on adaptive variation in cognition and the hippocampus in food-caching birds.
Research interests center on identifying environmental influences on memory and neural processes. Current projects investigate how natural selection shapes cognitive phenotypes in varying climates.
Honors include the Trevor J. McMinn Endowed Research Professorship (2015) recognizing contributions to science. The laboratory utilizes field and experimental approaches to study cognitive ecology in wild bird populations.
