Vladimir Jankovic is a Reader at the University of Manchester’s Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine (CHSTM). He leads research on weather, climate, and environmental history since the 18th century, focusing on topics such as environmental medicine, urban climatology, and socio-economic vulnerability to weather disasters. He serves as President of the International Commission for the History of Meteorology and has secured grants from the Wellcome Trust, ESRC, and NSF. His work bridges historical scholarship with contemporary urban design, as seen in a recent ESRC project on urban meteorology and city planning with Michael Hebbert.
