معرفی
Vladimir Ivanov is a Research Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). He has held roles including Deputy Director of the Laser Project at the Nevada Terawatt Facility (NTF) and Head of the Department of Science and Information at RITEK-Polisil, Moscow. His expertise spans high-energy-density physics, Z-pinch dynamics, and plasma diagnostics. Ivanov has secured significant grants, including a $705K DOE-NNSA award for Z-pinch research (2012-2015).
Education: Ph.D. in Physics (Lebedev Physical Institute, Moscow, 1987); M.S. in Physics (Moscow State University, 1979).
Research focuses on Z-pinch plasma instabilities, magnetic field dynamics, and laser-based diagnostics. His work integrates coupled 1-MA Z-pinches and high-intensity lasers to study plasma interactions. Key contributions include advancing understanding of current redistribution in Z-pinches and developing sub-picosecond laser probing techniques.
Awards include the Hyun Shin Outstanding Research Award (2009). His lab, the Zebra Pulsed Power Lab, explores high-power plasma systems. He has supervised numerous experiments at NTF and collaborates internationally on plasma diagnostics and x-ray radiography.
