Vlad Glăveanu

Vlad Glăveanu is a Full Professor of Psychology in the School of Psychology at Dublin City University (DCU). He serves as the Director of the DCU Centre for Possibility Studies and holds a secondary appointment as Professor II at the Centre for the Science of Learning and Technology, University of Bergen. As the founder and president of the Possibility Studies Network (PSN), he leads interdisciplinary research focused on creativity, imagination, and societal transformation.

His research spans creativity, innovation, imagination, curiosity, wonder, awe, agency, serendipity, utopias/dystopias, anticipation, futures studies, counterfactuals, culture, collaboration, perspective-taking, technology, social media, creative learning, education, and possibility studies. This work integrates sociocultural, psychological, and technological dimensions to explore human potential.

Glăveanu's publications emphasize sociocultural theories of creativity, interdisciplinary methodologies, and real-world applications in education, technology, and organizational contexts. Recent works explore creative aging, curiosity metrics, embodied cognition in performing arts, and digital culture during crises.

He directs the DCU Centre for Possibility Studies, fostering international collaborations on creativity and societal change. His editorial leadership includes founding the journal Possibility Studies & Society and editing book series for Palgrave and Cambridge University Press.
