Professor Vivienne Moore is a Professor of Social Epidemiology in the School of Public Health at the University of Adelaide. She has held leadership roles, including Co-director of the Fay Gale Centre for Research on Gender (2014–2018) and Co-director of the Life Course and Intergenerational Health research group (2008–present). Her research focuses on the interplay of social and biological factors influencing health across the life course, with a particular emphasis on congenital malformations, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and reproductive disorders. She has contributed to studies on infertility treatments, perinatal outcomes, and public health policy.
Her research group, the Life and Intergenerational Health Group, integrates epidemiological and anthropological approaches to understand chronic disease transmission across generations. Notable themes include the effects of clomiphene citrate on pregnancy outcomes, the impact of screen time on adolescent mental health, and the sociocultural dimensions of pregnancy and nutrition. She has collaborated on projects addressing obesity prevention, workplace flexibility, and gender equity in academic settings.
Professor Moore’s work has been published in high-impact journals, covering topics such as assisted reproductive technologies, maternal health, and public health interventions. Her research has policy implications for healthcare practices and education programs, particularly in improving access to contraception and supporting young people’s understanding of healthy relationships.
