معرفی
Viveka Erlandsson is an Associate Professor in the School of Mathematics at the University of Bristol, affiliated with the Institute for Pure Mathematics and the Institute for Probability, Analysis, and Dynamical Systems. She previously held postdoctoral positions at the University of Helsinki, University of Fribourg, and Aalto University.
Her research focuses on hyperbolic geometry, low-dimensional topology, and Teichmüller theory, with emphasis on counting curves and geodesics, geodesic currents, billiards, and mapping class group dynamics. She has contributed to equidistribution theorems, rigidity problems, and connections between flat and hyperbolic surfaces.
Recent publications include work on reciprocal geodesics, non-orientable surface dynamics, and geodesic counting via currents. Her articles span hyperbolic geometry, dynamical systems, and geometric group theory, reflecting interdisciplinary methodologies.
- LMS Anne Bennett Prize (2021)
- Whitehead Prize (2024)
She advises PhD students and collaborates with researchers such as Juan Souto, Moon Duchin, and Chris Leininger. Her project 'Geodesic Currents and Counting Problems' (2020–2022) was funded by the University of Bristol.
