Vivek Mehta

Professor Vivek Mehta is a clinical academic leader in Pain Medicine and Neuromodulation, serving as Clinical Network Director of Pain Services at Barts Health NHS Trust and Honorary Professor at Queen Mary University of London's William Harvey Research Institute. He specializes in advancing neuromodulation therapies for chronic pain, particularly spinal cord stimulation and restorative neurostimulation. His research focuses on functional neurostimulation, chronic low back pain mechanisms, and healthcare policy for neuromodulation services. He has led over £2 million in sponsored clinical trials and holds leadership roles in professional bodies like the Royal College of Anaesthetists and NSUKI.

Research interests include optimizing neuromodulation techniques for intractable pain, imaging-based pain pathway analysis, and translational research bridging clinical practice and device innovation.
