Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Vitaly Belik is a faculty member at Freie Universität Berlin's Department of Veterinary Medicine, where he leads the Systems Modeling Working Group at the Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Biometry. His research spans deep learning, digital epidemiology, complex networks, and biostatistics with applications in veterinary public health and zoonotic disease modeling.
His work focuses on:
- Deep learning for animal behavior recognition and digital pathology
- Complex network analysis of disease spread and internet media
- Human-animal mobility patterns in disease transmission
