Vishnu Perumthuruthil Suseelan

Vishnu Perumthuruthil Suseelan is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), with affiliations to both the Department of Engineering Cybernetics and the Department of Language and Literature. His research focuses on ocean color remote sensing for coastal and open ocean water monitoring, particularly in characterizing water quality and phytoplankton communities including harmful algal blooms using HYPSO-1 satellite capabilities.

His work addresses ecological impacts of mariculture and supports salmon migration route monitoring through bio-optical property analysis.

Peer-reviewed publications highlight his contributions to satellite validation (Sentinel 3A OLCI), seasonal phytoplankton mapping, and coastal water quality assessment. Current research extends to under-review studies on spatial-temporal phytoplankton variability and bioregionalization frameworks in the subarctic Pacific.
