Mrs. Virginie ROCHE is a Professor at Université Grenoble Alpes, affiliated with Polytech’Grenoble (G-INP) and the LEPMI laboratory (UMR 5279). She leads the second year of the Materials Department at Polytech Grenoble since 2014. Her research focuses on electrochemical kinetics, corrosion mechanisms (aqueous and high-temperature), and electrochemistry, with applications in energy and materials science.
Education:
- PhD in Materials Science (2008), conducted at IRCELYON, in collaboration with IFPEN and LEPMI.
- Engineer Diploma in Electrochemistry (2005), Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Electrochimie et d’Electrométallurgie de Grenoble (ENSEEG).
Research Interests: Electrochemical corrosion processes, material durability, surface engineering, and energy-related materials. She coordinates international projects, including the CAPES-COFECUB project SUMOTINET and a DGA-CNRS initiative on electrochemical modeling for marine applications.
Grants & Projects: Holder of a Research and doctoral advising grant (PEDR) at Université Grenoble Alpes (2020–2025). Coordinated the SUMOTINET project (2016–2020) and an IRP project on electrochemistry and coatings (2020–2024).
Labs/Teams: Member of the LEPMI laboratory, collaborating with global partners like UFSCAR (Brazil) and institutions in Germany, Norway, and Saudi Arabia.
