Dr. Virginia Morales serves as an Artist Faculty in Horn at the Osher School of Music, part of the University of Southern Maine’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. She is a freelance hornist, music educator, and performer with extensive orchestral experience, including roles with the Portland Symphony, Vermont Symphony, and others. A dedicated educator, she currently chairs the Arts Department and directs instrumental music at The Fenn School in Concord, MA.
Dr. Morales holds a Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music in Brass Performance from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Music from The University of Texas at El Paso. Her career highlights include solo performances nationwide and international chamber music collaborations with the Talis Festival and Academy in Switzerland and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Her teaching philosophy emphasizes music education’s importance, alongside her performance career. She has presented master classes at institutions like Boston University Tanglewood Institute and Tufts University. Awards include third prize in the 2022 International Women’s Brass Conference Solo Horn Competition.
