Virginia Mackintosh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological Science at the University of Mary Washington (UMW). She holds a B.A. from State University of New York at Binghamton, and M.S. and Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her research focuses on intensive mothering ideology, parenting attitudes, and mental health outcomes, particularly in marginalized populations like incarcerated single mothers. She has contributed to publications in developmental psychology and family studies.
