Virgil Vlahidis

Virgil Vlahidis is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Pedotechnics. His research focuses on Agricultural Mechanical Engineering and Thermic Machineries, with expertise in optimizing agricultural equipment and sustainable farming practices. He has contributed to soil mechanics studies, alternative fuel applications for tractors, and machinery efficiency improvements.

Vlahidis has participated in multiple research grants, including:

• Development and experimentation of a vineyards and orchards spraying machine with recovery solution screens (CNCSIS 33340/2003)
• The establishment of the machinery system for soil works in the N-E Romania’s agricultural exploitation aligned with sustainable agriculture (CEEX 14/2005-2008)
• Researches concerning the improvement of soil tillage tools for seedbed preparation in sustainable agriculture (52-107 PN2, 2008-2011)
• The grain modernising primary processing technologies for sustainable food products (PN II 51-062, 2007-2010)
