Prof. Dr. Viorel Vizureanu is a faculty member at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Bucharest, holding the rank of Professor since 2015. His research spans modern European philosophy (particularly Descartes), history of logic, and globalization’s impact on cultural identities. He has edited collective works and participated in international conferences on topics like space, postmodernism, and social justice.
- Education: High School in Mathematics-Physics; MA in Philosophy (UB, 1997); DEA (EHESS, Paris, 1999); PhD in Philosophy (UB, 2005).
Research Focus includes the philosophical system of Descartes, typologies of space, and glocalization. His recent publications explore social dimensions of space, anti-philosophy, and logical structures in modernity, often engaging interdisciplinary perspectives.
Scientific Awards include Erasmus Mobility Grants (multiple years), a First Prize in a University of Bucharest grant competition (2005), and a postdoctoral fellowship under POSDRU (2012-2013). He has co-organized symposia such as the International Colloquium "Systèmes-Images-Langages" (2006) and the 2nd Romanian-French Colloquium (2015).
He has served as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy (2012–present) and Scientific Secretary (2008–2012). His editorial roles include co-editing the Analele Universității din București. Seria Filosofie (2012–present).
