Violette Geissen

Violette Geissen is a WIMEK Personal Professor in the Department of Soil Physics and Land Management at Wageningen University & Research. Her research focuses on soil health, pesticide residues, microplastic pollution, and their environmental impacts, particularly in agricultural and urban ecosystems. She collaborates internationally, evidenced by projects in Argentina, Portugal, Nepal, and semi-arid regions.

Her work involves analyzing contaminant interactions, microbial community dynamics, and pesticide transport mechanisms. She has contributed to datasets on pesticide transport, microplastic emissions, and soil suppressiveness, often involving interdisciplinary methodologies like the PI-SWERL spectrometer.
