معرفی
Fanrong Meng is a researcher at Wageningen University's Department of Soil Physics and Land Management. She completed her PhD in 2021, focusing on microplastic pollution in agricultural systems. Her work investigates microplastic impacts on soil ecosystems, plant growth, and farming practices in China. She leads the SPRINT and MINAGRIS PostDoc project (2023–2025) and contributed to the Soil quality assessment in different pedoclimate zones of China PhD project (2016–2021). Key research areas include microplastic pollution dynamics, rhizosphere interactions, and sustainable agroecosystems.
Her research outputs span 6 peer-reviewed articles and a thesis, addressing topics like soil organic carbon changes, plant-microplastic interactions, and farming system sustainability. Collaborations include institutions in China and the Netherlands.
Notable projects include assessing microplastic accumulation in Northwest China's farming systems and evaluating biodegradable alternatives like polylactic acid. Her work bridges environmental science and agriculture, emphasizing practical solutions for pollution mitigation.
