Dr. Violeta Babić is a Full Professor at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Forestry, specializing in Forest Ecoclimatology. She has been affiliated with the institution since 2003 and became a Full Professor in 2019. Her roles include Head of the Department of Silviculture and Director of the Center for Monitoring Climate Change in Forest Ecosystems.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree (1998), Master's degree (2007), and PhD (2014), all from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Forestry.
- Scholarship holder-talent of the Serbian Ministry of Science during postgraduate studies.
Research Interests: Focuses on forest eco-climatology, climate change impacts on ecosystems, dendroclimatology, and silvicultural adaptation strategies. Her work integrates climatic data with ecological processes affecting forest resilience.
Teaching Engagement: Teaches courses in ecoclimatology, silviculture, and climate change at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Active in field training and international accreditation programs.
Projects & Leadership:
- Participant in 12 national scientific projects and the ICP Forests Level II monitoring program.
- Member of IUFRO Division 1, editorial boards, and national forestry associations.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Center for Monitoring Climate Change in Forest Ecosystems, focusing on climate-vegetation interactions and adaptation strategies.
