Viola Nilah Nyakato

Viola Nilah Nyakato is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda. Her research focuses on gender, public health, and sociological issues in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a particular emphasis on adolescent sexual and reproductive health (SRH), comprehensive sex education (CSE), and the intersection of cultural norms with health outcomes.

Her work addresses challenges such as teenage pregnancy, intimate partner violence, and access to contraception in rural Ugandan contexts. She employs participatory methods and qualitative research to explore caregiver-child communication dynamics, community health behaviors, and the impact of global health policies on local populations.
