Prof. Dr. Viola B. Georgi is Professor of Diversity Education at the University of Hildesheim's Department of Applied Educational Science (Faculty of Educational & Social Sciences). She served as Director of the Centre for Educational Integration (ZBI) from 2012 to 2023, where she led interdisciplinary research on migration, equity, and school development. Her academic trajectory includes a PhD in Sociology from Goethe University Frankfurt and research stays at Harvard, York University, and Uppsala.
Research Focus: Georgi investigates intercultural education, historical memory in migration societies, and diversity-sensitive institutional development. Her work bridges educational theory, sociology, and policy, emphasizing democratic school practices and inclusive pedagogies.
