Prof. Vincent Nierstrasz is a Professor in Textile Materials Technology at the Swedish School of Textiles, University of Borås since 2011. Previously, he held positions as a Marie Curie Fellow and senior researcher at Ghent University and assistant professor at the University of Twente. He earned his PhD from Delft University of Technology and MSc from Wageningen Agricultural University.

Research Interests: Focuses on surface modification, functional textiles (e.g., antibacterial, smart textiles), and resource-effective production methods. Leads projects like SMDTex (sustainable smart textiles) and Crosstexnet. Engages in EU-funded initiatives (FP5, FP6, FP7, H2020).
