Vincent Martinet serves as Director of Research at the Paris-Saclay Applied Economics laboratory (PSAE – Univ. Paris-Saclay, INRAE, AgroParisTech), guest lecturer at ENS Paris-Saclay, and Deputy Research Director at the Graduate School of Economics & Management, Université Paris-Saclay. His work focuses on environmental and natural resource economics, sustainable development, and environmentally friendly models of production and consumption.
His research interests span sustainable management of fisheries, material degrowth, measurement of sustainability, and agroecology. Martinet examines the intersection of economics, agronomy, and ecology, particularly studying ecosystem services through agricultural landscapes and public policies to encourage sustainable practices. He investigates the relationship between ecological dynamics of natural enemies of crop pests and landscape structure, seeking ways to reduce pesticide use through agroecological approaches.
His publications demonstrate strong focus on sustainability metrics, intergenerational and intragenerational equity, and modeling ecological-economic systems. Martinet's work often addresses how to achieve sustainable development in unequal global contexts, proposing differentiated decline trajectories with growth in poor countries and decline in rich countries.

As Deputy Research Director at the Graduate School of Economics & Management, Martinet coordinates twelve laboratories around a common scientific strategy focused on sustainable development. He collaborates extensively with researchers in climate sciences, agronomy, ecology, and engineering, as well as colleagues at CEA, AgroParisTech, and CentraleSupélec. He jointly leads an expert group (ESCo INRAE) for the Ministries of Agriculture and Food, Ecological Transition, and Higher Education and Research focused on natural pest regulation.
His laboratory, PSAE, brings together approximately sixty researchers working on economics applied to agriculture, environment, and food systems, covering the complete spectrum from production to consumption, including environmental impacts, international markets, and connections between environment, food, and health.
