Vincent Lombardi

Vincent Lombardi, Ph.D., is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Nevada, Reno. He has previously held adjunct professorships in Pathology and Biochemistry at the same institution and served as Director of Research at the Nevada Center for Biomedical Research.

Education:

Research Interests: Dr. Lombardi's research focuses on understanding the role of innate immunity in the gut-brain axis, particularly in neuroimmune diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and myalgic encephalomyelitis. His lab investigates secretory IgA's impact on gut microbiota, JAK activation in lymphocytes, Aryl hydrocarbon receptor agonists, and plasmacytoid dendritic cells in neuroimmune pathology.

Publications: His recent work spans microbiology, immunology, and neuroimmune disease, with a strong emphasis on translational applications. Key themes include cytokine profiling, genomic associations in chronic illnesses, and therapeutic modulation of the gut-brain axis.
