معرفی
Vincent Josse is a Full Professor at the Institut d'Optique Graduate School, where he serves as Director of CFA SupOptique since 2020. He leads the Quantum Transport in Disorder project within the Quantum Gases group of the Charles Fabry Laboratory. His academic career spans over two decades, beginning with his PhD at the Kastler Brossel Laboratory (ENS Paris) under E. Giacobino, followed by postdoctoral positions at the Max Planck Institute for Light and LENS in Florence.
Professor Josse's research focuses on quantum transport phenomena in disordered systems using ultracold atomic gases as a highly controllable quantum simulator. His work primarily investigates Anderson localization of matter waves, spectral properties of atoms in disordered potentials, and the three-dimensional Anderson transition. His research group develops sophisticated experimental techniques to create and probe disordered quantum systems with unprecedented precision.
His publication record shows consistent high-impact research over the past two decades, with significant contributions to understanding quantum transport in disordered media. His most recent work (2021-2023) focuses on bichromatic speckle potentials, spectral functions, and elastic scattering time measurements to precisely study the Anderson transition in three dimensions.
- Junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF) (2012-2017)
- Published in Nature (2008), Nature Physics (2012), and numerous Physical Review Letters papers
- Regular presenter at international conferences on quantum gases and localization phenomena
Professor Josse's research is supported by French national research agencies and international collaborations. He has supervised numerous PhD students and postdoctoral researchers who have gone on to establish their own research careers. His work bridges atomic physics, quantum optics, and condensed matter physics, providing fundamental insights into wave propagation in disordered media.
His laboratory within the Charles Fabry Laboratory focuses on quantum gases in disordered potentials, employing state-of-the-art ultracold atom experimental setups to study localization phenomena with precise control over disorder parameters and system dimensionality.
