Professor Vincent Gabrielsen is a leading scholar at the SAXO-Institute, Department of History, University of Copenhagen (2001–present), specializing in Ancient Greek and Hellenistic history. He directs the Carlsberg Foundation-funded Copenhagen Associations Project and Rhodes Centennial Project, focusing on economic structures and maritime history.

- BA and MA in Classical Tradition, English, and History from University of Southern Denmark (1984)
His research spans economic history, naval systems, and social organizations of the ancient world, particularly Athenian fleet financing, Hellenistic banking, and non-public associations. Recent projects examine maritime trade networks and state-citizen financial obligations.
His publications reveal expertise in Hellenistic economies, naval aristocracy, and the intersection of warfare with economic flows. Key themes include taxation systems, credit operations, and the role of private organizations in public spheres.
