Dr. Vinay Kumar Gupta is a Commonwealth Rutherford Fellow at the Mathematics Institute of the University of Warwick (since 2018). Previously held positions include Assistant Professor at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (2016–2018) and postdoctoral roles at Max Planck Institute and RWTH Aachen University. His research focuses on kinetic theory of gases, granular gases, fluid mechanics, and numerical methods. He has a strong background in mathematical modeling of rarefied gas mixtures and granular flows.

Teaching Experience: Delivered courses in advanced calculus, differential equations, and mathematical modeling at SRM University (2016–2018) and served as teaching assistant for ODE/PDE courses at RWTH Aachen University (2011–2015).
Key Contributions: Authored over 15 peer-reviewed articles on kinetic theory applications, including work on granular shear banding, gas mixture moment equations, and entropy-based hydrodynamic closures.
