Vinay Gupta

Dr. Vinay Gupta is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemical, Biological and Materials Engineering at the University of South Florida (USF), serving as the graduate advisor. He holds a BS from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, MS and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology, and a postdoctoral appointment at the University of California Davis and IBM-UCDavis-Stanford's Center for Polymeric Interfaces and Macromolecular Assemblies.

His research focuses on interfacial phenomena and polymeric materials, including interfacial science, self-assembled materials, nanotechnology, and environmental remediation. Recent projects involve functionalized nanoparticles for theranostics and polymeric networks for biomedical/environmental applications. He leads the Gupta Research Group, which has pioneered studies on polymer-oxide nanoparticle composites and smart polymeric systems.
