Vilma Reunanen is a Clinical Instructor in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging at the Department of Equine and Small Animal Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Helsinki. Her role focuses on clinical teaching and research in veterinary radiology and orthopedics.
Her research interests center on veterinary diagnostic imaging, particularly in small animals, with emphasis on:
- Orthopedic conditions (e.g., intervertebral disc degeneration, elbow dysplasia)
- Genetic disorders affecting canine skeletal structures
- Advanced imaging techniques (radiography, MRI, CT)
- Breed-specific health issues in dogs
Her publications (14 articles, 2007–2025) predominantly explore canine orthopedics and imaging diagnostics. Recent works show increased focus on genetic associations with spinal disorders, clinical trials for orthopedic treatments, and innovative imaging applications in veterinary medicine.
