Victor Norman is an Associate Professor and Docent at Linköping University, affiliated with the Engineering Materials (KMAT) division under the Department of Management and Engineering (IEI). His research focuses on enhancing material durability for heavy-vehicle engine components through advanced mechanical testing, microstructural analysis, and simulation-based design optimization. He contributes to both research and teaching, including courses on engineering materials.
Research interests include mechanical properties of structural materials, fatigue analysis, and thermomechanical fatigue. His work addresses challenges in material selection and lifecycle prediction for automotive and industrial applications, emphasizing sustainable practices and efficiency improvements.
Recent publications highlight advancements in quenching techniques for stainless steel, fatigue crack growth modeling, and probabilistic evaluation of testing methods. Collaborations include projects on additive manufacturing and composite materials through initiatives like the LiU Composite Lab.
